St. Lawrence Advocacy

Save the River

Save the River, based in Clayton, New York, is a member-based advocacy organization and the acting director plays an important role in leadership and as the designated the Upper St. Lawrence RIVERKEEPER.

Since 1978 Save The River has worked with thousands of year-round and seasonal members, on both the U.S. and Canadian sides of the River, to ensure that the upper St. Lawrence River is protected for future generations. The organization’s advocacy positions – from acting as a watchdog on St. Lawrence Seaway issues to fighting for environmentally sound water levels regulation – are based on independent science and community outreach.
